Buying second-hand items is becoming more popular these days.

如今，购买二手物品正在变得日益流行。

One million people are selling over 2 million second-hand items ranging from clothing and books to electronic devices on Xianyu every day, Xinhua reported.

据新华社报道，每天有100万用户在闲鱼上出售超过200万件二手物品，种类从服装、书籍到电子产品不一而足。

People have made more money in recent years and bought more things than they really need, according to a speech given by Wei Ying, founder of the second-hand book-trading site Deja Vu.

二手书交易平台多抓鱼的创始人魏颖在一次演讲中提到，近年来，人们收入水平提高，买了很多实际上并不需要的东西。

As more people turn to a minimal lifestyle, they are selling their used items for cheap.

由于越来越多的人转而崇尚极简生活，他们以低廉的价格出售闲置物品。

Shoppers are attracted to the low prices, as well as the fact that buying second-hand is good for the environment.

购买者被二手物品省钱又环保的特点所吸引。

When Chen Junjun, 22, a college student in Shanghai, wants to buy books, she uses Deja Vu.

22岁的陈君君（音）是上海的一名大学生，当她想买书时就打开多抓鱼。

She searches for the books she wants and adds them to her shopping cart, just like on any other shopping site.

她搜索想要的书，添加到购物车里，就像其他购物平台一样。

The difference is that the books are much cheaper – as much as 70 percent cheaper than new books.

不同的是，这些书便宜得多——是新书价格的3折。

“Since I have limited spending money, it’s a perfect choice for me,” Chen said.

“因为我零花钱有限，这对我来说是个极好的选择，”陈君君表示。

Lots of people like Chen are buying second-hand books.

许多像陈君君一样的人都在买二手书。

Deja Vu has over 3 million users and sells about 20,000 second-hand books every day, Beijing Daily reported.

据《北京日报》报道，多抓鱼有300多万用户，每天销售约2万本二手书。

It has also opened two brick-and-mortar bookstores – one in Beijing, the other in Shanghai.

它还开设了两家实体书店——一家在北京，一家在上海。

Besides lower prices, people can also find out-of-print books.

除了更低的价格，人们还可以淘到绝版书。

Yan Minjun, 21, is a picky reader.

21岁的严敏君（音）是个挑剔的读者。

She has bought many classic versions of books on Deja Vu, such as a copy of Pride and Prejudice that was published by People’s Literature Publishing House in 1993.

她买了许多经典书籍，比如一本人民文学出版社1993年出版的《傲慢与偏见》。

“I looked for it for a long time. Now I have it!” she said.

“我找了很长时间，现在终于买到了！”她说。

Buying old books can even connect readers.

买旧书甚至可以使读者建立联系。

Zhao Kaiqi, a 22-year-old college student in Harbin, Heilongjiang, once found a note in a second-hand book she bought.

22岁的赵凯琪（音）是黑龙江哈尔滨的一名大学生，她曾在一本二手书中发现了一张便条。

“Its previous owner shared her thoughts and hoped I would enjoy it. It was so heartwarming,” Zhao said.

“书的上一任主人分享了她的想法，希望我能喜欢这本书。这真的很暖心，”赵凯琪称。

“I want to do the same thing in the future, too.”

“未来我也想这么做。”
