3. Chinese officials say police have uncovered a plot to attack the Beijing Olympics. Authorities say the raid in western China last month turned up guns, homemade bombs and other materials. Two people were killed and fifteen others arrested in that bust.

 

4. Everything seems to be going NASA’s way for a Monday’s planned liftoff of space shuttle Endeavor. Forecasters put the odds of favorable launch at 90% for weather. Endeavor’s 16-day flight will be the longest ever by a shuttle visiting the International Space Station.
