1.New York could soon have a new governor. Pressure is mounting on Eliot Spitzer to resign following his alleged role in a prostitution scandal. If that does happen, this man Lieutenant Governor David Peterson would take over .
 

2.The head of US Central Command is stepping down. Admiral William Fallon was the top military commander for the Middle East. A recent article though portrayed him as being the lone top military official to oppose President Bush's Iran policy.


3.Congress is joining the fray in the fight over a 35-billion-dollar contract that the military awarded to a  European company. The deal calls for replacing 179 refeuling tankers for the Air Force. Boeing has filed a formal protest over the contract .


4.Recent cruise-goers may get a nice surprise in the mail. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines has agreed to reimburse passengers for fuel surcharges that were not adequately disclosed.
