1.Tropical Storm Hanna is closing in on the Carolina coast with top sustained winds of 70 miles an hour. The forecast calls for Hanna to make landfall early Saturday morning, then marching up the Atlantic seaboard, dumping inches of rain. 2.Republican presidential nominee John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin hit the campaign trail, traveling to Wisconsin in their first joint campaign appearance since the GOP convention. Palin says she wants to bring the campaign straight from the convention into "small-town America". 3.The United States and Libya sealed a turnaround deal on their sometimes troubled relationship. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited the leader Moamer Kadhafi in Tripoli. Her visit coming up to Libya renounced terrorism and vowed to give up weapons of mass destruction. 4.The LPGA Tour is backing off plans to suspend players who could not effectively speak English in the tournaments. The Tour's commissioner disclosed the original plan in a meeting with South Korean players. The unwritten rule was widely criticized as discriminatory, especially against Asian players.
