1.From the Pacific Northwest to New England, people are digging out from heavy snow. In between, many are shivering through a brutally cold day. Below-zero wind chills led a number of schools in the Pittsburg area to close. Monday morning commuters in Ohio were greeted by zero-degree temperatures.

2.A federal jury in New Jersey has convicted five Muslim immigrants of conspiring to kill soldiers at FORT DIX. The men will be sentenced in April and could get life in prison. The mother of one of them calls the verdict a miscarriage of justice, saying the government sent somebody to push her son to say something incriminating.

3.The National Transportation Safety Board says it has good data from the flight data and cockpit voice recorders of a Continental Airlines jet that skidded off the runway and caught fire in Denver Saturday. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the plane’s aborted takeoff. 38 people were hurt and at least five remain hospitalized.

4.The White House says doctors have performed an MRI on President George W. Bush's left shoulder. He's apparently been having some pain in it, though not enough to restrict his activities. Results are possible later today.
