1.President-elect Barack Obama would meet with Senate Democrats to discuss the economy today. At the same time, top Obama aides will be getting ready for a meeting with Senate Republicans. All of these are ahead of a possible vote Thursday on whether to release the second half of the 700-billion-dollar bank bailout package. 2.A Senate panel today considers Senator Hilary Clinton's nomination to be secretary of state. Republicans aren’t expect(ed) to do offer much resistance, saying Clinton's worked well with them during her eight years in the Senate. 3.The search for an Indiana man whose plane crashed in Florida without him in it continues. Marcus Schrenker was seen checking into an Alabama motel after the plane crashed. Authorities believe he let the plane crashed and parachuted to safety. Schrenker's businesses currently are under investigation for possible securities violations. 4.A federal grand jury is being asked to determine if Roger Clemens lied when he testified in front of Congress. Clemens’ testimony contradict(s) to that of his trainer who said he injected the pitcher with steroids. Clemens denies taking any performance enhancers.
