Hey, hope you are having a great day. I'm Nicole Lapin at the CNN Center in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

A desperate search is now underway for hundreds of people who were on board a ferry that simply went down in a typhoon in the Philippines. Look at this. Some 750 passengers were believed to be on board this ship when it capsized on Sunday off Sibuyan Island. Now so far at least 33 survivors have been rescued, 6 bodies have been recovered as well.

The mayor of a Massachusetts town is now saying that there's simply no evidence that some high school girls made a "pact" to get pregnant at the same time. Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk is now meeting with school and health officials to talk about this. Seventeen students got pregnant this year. That's about four times the usual number. The school's principal told Time Magazine that at least half were involved in this "pact". The town's mayor claims that the principal simply can't remember who told him about the "pregnancy pact".

Gas prices, down today, but barely, only about a tenth of a penny. AAA is now saying that the national average for a gallon of self-serve regular is ($)4.07. Soon, you know what, we could be seeing bigger drops in gas prices. Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah is now saying that his country will increase oil production by 700,000 barrels every single day, starting next month.

And meanwhile, some people are getting some cheaper gas, filling up in Mexico. But it could cost more in the end. A gallon of gas costs about ($)3.10 in Tijuana that's right across the border from San Diego where it's about ($)4.60 a gallon.

"I can come shopping, you know, get some groceries and stuff like that, and then I'll go back. It's like saving double."

"We can come down to visit relatives and shop around. While we're here, might as well fill up."
AAA is now warning, however, that gas in Mexico contains more sulfur which could eventually cause more problems and major repairs in American vehicles.

The Supreme Court has given President Bush a key win in his fight to improve border security. The court refused to hear a case involving a dispute over a plan to build a fence along the US-Mexico border, and the fence is designed to stop illegal immigrants and illegal drugs from moving easily into the United States. Environmentalists and a lot of homeowners all along the border did question the legality of the plan.

And those are some of the headlines making news right now. For more on those stories and other news of the day, CNN is always your source, online, or on TV.
