Hello, from the CNN Center here in Atlanta, I'm Melissa Long. It's Thursday, November 20th. Here are some of the headlines making news this hour. After seven years of imprisonment, five Algerian terrorism suspects will be released without charge from Guantanamo Bay prison. A Federal Court judge ordered the suspects to be released after the prosecution failed to show they were enemy combatants. The judge found that the government provided sufficient evidence against a sixth Algerian suspect, however. The UN Security Council has voted to send additional 3000 soldiers to the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are gonna join the 17, 000 peacekeepers already there, the largest such UN force anywhere. A pullback by rebel forces is also said to be allowing more aid in. Russia's sending more ships to the Horn of Africa to crack down on the recent wave of hijackings. It says armed warships will join a NATO-led international fleet. 90 ships, 90 ships have been attacked off Eastern Africa so far this year. The pirates operating from Somalia still hold 17 vessels including a massive Saudi-owned supertanker, full of crude, the largest ship captured to date. Pirates typically hold the ships and then demand ransom. If you have thought about quitting smoking, maybe today is the day. This is the 32nd annual Great American Smokeout sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The goal is to give quitters some mass moral support. Smokers are encouraged to abstain for the day, or at least try to cut back. The American Cancer Society hopes it's a starting point for a smoke-free life. And those are the headlines at this hour.
