1.President Barack Obama says his administration's efforts to fix the economy are moving in the right directions. Speaking at his second prime-time news conference, the President urged Americans to be patient, saying the recovery would take time. 2.Secretary of State Hillary Clinton heads to Mexico today. It's a trip aimed at increasing anti-narcotics cooperation. While battling drug cartels along the US-Mexico border will dominate discussions, Clinton also is expected to talk trade, climate change and the economy during her two-day-trip. 3.President Obama has declared North Dakota a federal disaster area because of statewide flooding. The Red River is expected to crest at 40 feet on Friday. Flood stage is 18 feet. 4.A Miami Beach police report says a pedestrian struck and killed by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donty Stallworth was not in a crosswalk. The report says Stallworth flashed his lights, trying to warn the victim. Police say Stallworth was going about 50 miles an hour in a 40-mile-an-hour zone. |
