1. The mayor of Fargo, North Dakota says a levee breach that allowed the Red River to flood an elementary school early Sunday is a "wake-up call". He said that shows a threat that the city faces for the next week. Water crept under a permanent dike and flooded the school early Sunday.

2. Police say a gunman opened fire at a North Carolina nursing home Sunday, killing six and wounding at least two others. The gunman was also injured before he was apprehended by police after the 10 a.m. shooting. It happened at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage.

3. Anti-nuclear groups held protest vigils for the 30th anniversary of America's worst nuclear power plant accident. A small amount of radiation was released into the air of Three Mile Island in 1979. No nuclear power plants have been built in the US since then.

4. Australians gathered and killed thousands of toads this weekend. Officials in Queensland say the toads eat other animals and ravage the landscape. They'll be turned into fertilizer.
