1.A US vessel seized by pirates off Somalia is now back in the hands of the crew after they retook control of the ship. But one person aboard the ship reached by satellite phone tells the AP the pirates are holding the captain hostage in a lifeboat. All 20 crew members are Americans.

2.Rescue teams have pulled more bodies from the buildings shattered by a deadly earthquake in central Italy. Pope Benedict says he will visit the area as soon as possible. And Madonna has reportedly pledged 500,000 dollars for quake relief.

3.Protesters have stormed the parliament in Moldova, demanding new elections. Rioters believe weekend parliamentary elections were rigged in the ruling Communist Party's favor. Almost 200 people were arrested.

4.Rescuers trying to help a moose that fell into icy water in Newman Lake, Washington had to get creative, they came up with a pulley system to help slide the animal off the lake.
