1.President Barack Obama is reviving Bush-era military tribunals for a small group of Guantanamo detainees. Obama says the trials are the best way to protect the US while upholding its values. Critics of the tribunals had hoped that Obama would do away with them.

2.New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the latest cases of swine flu that prompted the closure of three public schools are generally mild. He says with the exception of one school official hospitalized in critical condition, victims have recovered quickly.

3.Pope Benedict ended his pilgrimage to the Holy Land Friday with a call for peace and an emotional appeal to Israel and the Palestinians. He said that one of the saddest sights during his visit was Israel's barrier walling off Palestinian areas of the West Bank.

4.Former basketball great Wayman Tisdale has died at 44. The three-time All-American at Oklahoma who played 12 seasons in the NBA and later became a top jazz musician, died after a two-year battle with cancer. Several of his albums made the top 10 on the Billboard charts.
