3. Former medical student Philip Markoff pleaded not guilty Monday to charges he lured a masseuse he met through Craigslist to a Boston hotel, then bound her, beat her and shot her to death with a gun authorities say he later stashed in a hollowed-out medical textbook.

4. Lucas Glover has won the US Open at Bethpage Black, getting only the second victory of his PGA Tour career. Glover finished a final round of 3-over 73. He won by two strokes Monday over Phil Mickelson, David Duval and Ricky Barnes.
