1.Officials believe five-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan may have been buried alive. Her body was found buried near Michigan River. Autopsy results indicate she suffocated after inhaling soil but did not determine an exact cause of death.

2.A passenger plane crashed in northwest Iran. And officials there say there do not appear to be any survivors. State media report there were 168 people aboard. The Russia-made Caspian Airlines jet was heading from Tehran to Armenian when it cracked.

3.Another grueling day of questioning is ahead for Sonia Sotomayor. President Barack Obama's choice for the Supreme Court has been deflecting Republican criticism that she is biased by citing her 17-year record as a federal judge.

4.NASA is going for its sixth attempt to launch the space shuttle Endeavour. Thunderstorms delayed the mission three times and hydrogen gas leaks caused two postponements. Endeavour is poised to take off for the International Space Station this evening.
