1.After months of negotiations House Democrats are finally ready to unveil a health care bill. House speaker Nancy Pelosi is said to be planning a formal announcement tomorrow morning with the measure reaching the House floor next week.

2.The Taliban is claiming responsibility for today's deadly assault on a UN guest house in the heart of Afghanistan's capital. 11 people, including five UN workers, were killed.

3.Federal officials are sending engineers to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. They'll try to find out what caused a repair on the bridge to fail and send a 5,000-pound crossbeam and two rods into rush hour traffic.

4.Judging from early indications, NASA says  today’s test flight of a new rocket was a tremendous success. The flight lasted just a couple of minutes and the rocket didn't go into space. It could be the first step in the back-to-the-moon effort.
