1. Another blast has rocked Pakistan, killing at least 30 people and wounding another 45. The explosion happened near a bank in a hotel just a few miles outside of Islamabad. In the past several weeks, blasts have killed about 250 people.

2. Officials say they are no longer searching for survivors of a midair collision between a Coast Guard plane and a Marine helicopter. The crash happened Thursday night off the coast of San Diego. Debris from both aircraft has been found but so far no signs of nine missing crew members.

3. A Navy assault ship built from steel from the World Trade Center will soon dock in the city that bears its name. The USS New York is scheduled to sail up the Hudson River today. It will stop beside the World Trade Center site for a 21-gun salute. The official commissioning takes place Saturday.

4. The New York Yankees are one game away from the 27th World Series title. Yanks rally for three runs in the 9th inning to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-4. New York now has a three-game-to-one series lead. Game five is tonight in Philadelphia.
