1.The US Army is confirming that a number of people have been killed and wounded in a pair of shootings at Fort Hood in Texas. Military officials say two shooters were apparently involved and that the incidents were on different parts of the sprawling base.

2.President Barack Obama stepped back in front of the cameras today to personally push his health care initiatives. He's trumpeting endorsements from the  AARP and American Medical Association.

3.Authorities say the mother of a missing Florida 7-month-old secretly turned her over to her babysitter in the middle of the night. The sheriff says the infant was found alive in a box under the babysitter's bed.

4.New York is getting ready to toast the Yankees. A parade for the World Series champs is scheduled for Friday down the Canyon of Heroes in Manhattan. The Yanks topped the Phillies Wednesday night to claim the team's 27th title.
