1.New economic numbers are due out this morning. And the national unemployment rate is not expected to change. Yesterday the President held a job summit at the White House, vowing to take "every responsible step to accelerate job creation".

2.American student Amanda Knox could learn her fate today inside an Italian court room. She is accused of murder and sexual assault in the death of her roommate Meredith Kercher back in 2007. If convicted, Knox could face life in prison.

3.Swiss authorities say director Roman Polanski has been moved from a Swiss prison to a chalet at a luxury resort where he’ll be under house arrest. The Swiss government is deciding whether to extradite him to the US for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

4.Leaders of a House panel are still determined to hear from Tareq and Michaele Salahi about how they got into a White House state dinner without an invitation. The couple may get a subpoena to appear. A hearing was held yesterday but Salahi declined to attend.
