Forecasters warn conditions will remain volatile in southern California as a powerful storm slams into the region. The 4th Pacific storm in a week has led to street flooding, snarl roadways and cancel flights. States of emergency have been declared in 5 California counties. More aftershocks are again sending Haitians into the streets. Dozens of aftershocks have been felt in Port-au-Prince since the 7.0-magnitude quake devastated the city Jan. 12th. The U.S. Geological Survey says all of the aftershocks have been 4.5 magnitude or stronger. A judge in Los Angeles will hear arguments today to determine if Roman Polanski could be sentenced in absentia for his decades-old sex case. The film director is currently under house arrest in Switzerland. Prosecutors are insisting that Polanski appear in L.A. courtroom. Conan O’Brien’s run as the Tonight Show host ends tonight. O’Brien and NBC reached a buyout deal yesterday. It will pay O’Brien and his staff $45 mil. Jay Leno will leave his 10 p.m. show and return as the Tonight Show host after the Olympics |
