Mr. Lee: I’m so sorry to call you on such short notice, but something’s come up.
对不起临时给你打电话，但是我有急事。

Mr. Jones: You mean for this afternoon’s meeting?
你是说今天下午不能来了？

Mr. Lee:  That’s right I’m afraid I have to postpone it.
是的，恐怕得延期了。
Mr. Scott got sick and I have to attend the Speechmaker’s Symposium in his place.
Scott先生生病了，我要替他去参加研讨会。
I’m leaving today, and I won’t be back until a week from Friday.
今天走，从星期五开始离开一个星期。

Mr. Jones: That’s quite a while. Let’s make it the week after you get back, then.
时间很长。你回来后我们再处理那件事吧。

Mr. Lee:  That will be great. So it’s two weeks from tomorrow, same time and place.

I’m really sorry to do this to you.

Mr. Jones: No problem at all. To tell you the truth, I could use the extra time in my schedule to catch up on some paperwork.
