David Usher1966年4月24日在英国出生，他是一个歌手、词作者和知名的人道主义者。母亲是艺术家及泰国佛教徒，父亲是加拿大Queen’s University的经济学教授及犹太人，受家庭的影响，他所写歌词的主题很多是宗教、信仰、政治和人道主义，希望每个人都能以多角度的方位来看待他人和事物。他本人也是在温哥华的Simon Fraser University的政治系 (Political Science) 毕业的。
