    从U2发展至今的整个历史来看，他们始终没有把摇滚同关注与参与社会和政治活动分开过，他们的作品始终洋溢着一种激情，一种期望改变旧世界、歌颂献身的激情。主唱Bono更是经常以个人名义致力于如反战、支持亚洲某地区独立等自发性国际政治活动，这首歌就是献给缅甸反对党领导人——Aung San Suu Kyi（翁山苏姬）的作品，激励她坚持自己的理想，不要因为遭遇挫折而放弃过去的努力。
