三人组合Shivaree的音乐有点慵懒舒畅的风格，又带点POP的流行轻松，仔细听还有些歌曲特有的迷幻。声音的沙哑似乎还掺杂着些稚气，甜美，慵懒，颓废，再配上恰到好处的节奏，有着令人着迷的飘渺味道。Goodnight Moon最早出现在电影《Kill Bill Ⅱ》中。

看到唱片封套会瞬时以为Shivaree是这个女生的名字，而她的名字是Ambrosia Parsley，连发音都很有音乐质感。打小在圣法兰多山谷的故乡，听着祖母的四弦琴成长，幼时在当地的比萨店和老年班卓琴乐队的交相辉映之下有了第一次的舞台演出。13岁背个小包袱迈出家门，边走边唱。遇到和 JohnnyOtis以及J.J.Cale多有合作的吉他手DukeMcVinnie，得到更多的建议和长进，这些成果又刚好被和TomWaits一同巡演的键盘手DannyMcGough在一次聚会上听到，于是，上帝总是可以这样把故事凑齐。这支三人乐队叫做Shivaree。

    Shivaree 最初的录音湮灭得比录制的时间还快，不过当JoeHenry出现在视野中后，情况不同了，他们在这个亨利的院子里炮制出了大概史上排得上座次的名字超长的专辑《I Oughtta Give You a Shot in the Head for Making Me Live in This Dump》，让美洲和欧洲的受苦人，也包括出门只坐得起自己的飞机，在全世界的沙滩都有些小屋子可还是觉得苦得不行的人，都产生强烈认同。

1999年首张专辑发了之后，他们开始漫长的巡回演出，所以除了美国和不列颠，莫斯科、里斯本、巴黎、罗马的人民也都被他们普及了。 Shivaree2002年带来的第二张录音室作品《RoughDreams》，充满奇思妙想，AmbrosiaParsley是魔法的施造者，其中的《Wagers》（赌注）像是 Billie Holiday在用techno-folk的形态表演，名谣前辈JoniMitchell附体灵魂唱腔的调子也在这张专辑里绽放，整张专辑涌动电子碎拍、哥特这些超浓度的浮流。企图心永远不代表结果，这张作品没有在美国开花结果，反而差点把他们送出音乐版图。

    昆汀·塔伦蒂诺及时拉了她、或者说他们一把，《杀死比尔2》的原声带里选用Shivaree的一首《GoodnightMoon》，甜美而颓废，备受追捧。很多人都是从昆汀迷人歪瓜裂枣的电影的音乐里发现自己原来是有品味的。2004年10月的EP《Breach》对于Shivaree今年1月发表的新专辑来讲，时间上实在太专业了。

    第三张专辑《Who's Got Trouble?》和主打单曲的灵感来自1942年迈克尔·柯蒂兹导演、英格丽·褒曼和亨弗莱 ·鲍嘉主演的经典名作《卡萨布兰卡》，点题歌《New Casablanca》的音乐录影带是泛黄的黑白电影的调子，AmbrosiaParsley的眼神放肆而忧郁，听她懒懒地唱出“Who’sgottrouble?/We've got trouble /Goahead make mine a double”时，你会决定，既然一生早晚会惹上麻烦，就先拿下值得的一个。
