CCTV9英语新闻：Shanghai introduces toughest food safety law

Shanghai has introduced a new set of food safety regulations this week. It's reported to be the toughest in China to date. According to the new rules, offenders could be banned from the food industry for life should they be convicted of food safety crimes.

 

The city is also setting up a new registration system for foods from grains, poultry and live-stock products, as well as vegetables and fruits... Making it possible to track the entire process of production and transportation.

 

Shanghai is also stepping up control of online food services, as it lays out various measures that supervise online vendors' advertising, equipment and storage.

 

The new regulations also require food couriers in the city to have health certificates.
