Singer Tina Turner, known as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" has died at the age of 83.

Turner's representative said she died Wednesday night after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.

The entertainer teamed up with her husband Ike Turner for a series of hit records and live shows in the 1960s and '70s.
