Dear Annie, I feel betrayed¹ by my friend Hannah. We have been best friends since primary school and spend almost every day with each other.

亲爱的安妮，我觉得被我的朋友汉娜背叛了。我们从小学开始就是好朋友，一起度过几乎每一天。

Sometimes, other children say we are no fun because we are both very academic and like to study, but we like it that way.

有时候，其他的孩子说我们很无趣,因为我们都热衷于学习，但是我们就喜欢那样。

We are both very hard-working and always get good grades at school.

我们都努力学习，在学校都总是取得好成绩。

On Monday, we had a surprise Maths quiz². I thought it was quite easy and was not worried about the results.

周一，我们有一次数学突击测试。我认为那很简单，一点也不担心结果。

I must have sounded very proud of myself after the quiz, saying how easy it was and how I was sure to get a good grade.

考试之后，我一定是听上去洋洋得意，说考题太简单了，我肯定能取得好成绩。

The next day after class, my math teacher told me that I had the lowest grade in the class!

第二天下课后，数学老师告诉我我的分数是全班最低的。

I felt so ashamed³; I must be really stupid to fail a simple math quiz!

我万分羞愧，如果我连这么简单的数学测验都无法通过，那我一定是个笨蛋！

Afterwards, I pretended⁴ to be cheerful⁵, but Hannah sensed something was wrong.

后来，我假装很开心，但汉娜还是觉察到哪儿有点不对劲。

We went to wash our hands in the girls' washroom before lunch and I admitted how badly I had done.

I begged her not to tell anyone else, and she said she would keep my secret.
