 Frustrations have turned to anger for some of the families of the passengers on board the missing Malaysian plane. Distraught Chinese relatives had to be dragged from a media briefing after they burst in and accused the authorities of not doing enough to find the plane. 

 

Police are following a new lead in the disappearance¹ of British girl Madeleine McCann in Portugal although seven years ago. They are looking for a man who sexually abused five girls who was staying in the Portugal....in Portuguese² holiday villas³ between 2004 and 2010. 

 

The Federal Opposition⁴ is keeping up the pressure on the prime minister over Sinodinos who has stepped aside as assistant treasurer⁵. Senator Sinodinos has been called to appear at a corruption⁶ inquiry⁷ into a company he was involved with. The Opposition is demanding that Tony Abbott explain what he knew about the matter.

 

Russian forces have seized control of a second Ukrainian naval⁸ bla....base in Crimea just hours after capturing the navy  headquarters. Russia has moved to annex⁹ the region. The UN Security Council is meeting again to discuss the crisis. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is heading to Moscow and Kiev for talks.

 

And Toyota has agreed to pay 1.3 billion dollars to resolve a criminal dispute with the US over safety problems. The carmaker had to recall more than 10 million cars because of problems with their brakes, accelerator pedals and floor mats.
