A weak low and a trough are causing showers over eastern New South Wales and southeast Queensland while a separate trough inland is generating¹ showers and thunder around Queensland and South Australia. A trough over western parts of the nation is producing light isolated² showers.

 

Looking around the country, in Queensland, showers and storms over the ranges in coast as well in the north. Mostly sunny in the west. 

 

Isolated showers and storms for New South Wales, mostly along the ranges. 

 

Partly cloudy in Victoria with isolated storms in the west and the ranges. 

 

Isolated storms and showers in Tasmania’s inland. 

 

South Australia will be sunny and warm with the odd³ shower and some thunder in the southeast. 

 

Showers and storms across Western Australia’s interior⁴ with cool, southeasterly changes spreading through the southwest.

 

And in the Northern Territory, showers and storms in the northeast. Dry and sunny across the Alice. 

 

Now looking ahead to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities. Possible thunderstorms in Brisbane. Clearing showers in Sydney. Mostly sunny conditions in Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide. Cloudy in Perth. And light thunderstorms in Darwin.
