45 In a Strange¹ City

 

　　If you go out by yourself² in a strange city, you might³ get lost. What shouldyou do? How can you find your way? Of course⁴, if you never go out alone⁵, youwon't get lost, but you will also miss a lot of good experiences⁷.
One thing you can do in case you get lost is take a map along⁸. It might alsobe a good idea to take a card from your hotel, so you have the hotel'saddress. If the map doesn's help you, or if you forget to take one, you mustask how to get where you're going⁹. You can ask, for example, "There is NovaHotel?'or "How do I get to Nova Hotel?"or "Do you know where Nova Hotelis?"Police¹⁰ officers¹¹ and clerks¹² in shops are often helpful¹³ when you askdirections.
