n.钮扣，按钮；v.扣住

参考例句：

• Press the button,then the machine will work.按下电钮，机器就能转动了。

6 followers   

追随者( follower的名词复数 )； 用户； 契据的附面； 从动件

参考例句：

• the followers of Mahatma Gandhi 圣雄甘地的拥护者
• The reformer soon gathered a band of followers round him. 改革者很快就获得一群追随者支持他。

7 calendar   

n.日历，月历

参考例句：

• A big calendar is hanging on the wall.墙上挂了一本大月历。
• Is there a calendar clock in your family?你家有日历钟吗？

8 lose   

v.丢失，失去，迷失，(钟表)走慢

参考例句：

• I always lose at cards, with my bad luck.我不走运，打牌总输。
• I can always lose myself in a good book.一本好书会使我爱不释手。

9 conversation   

n.谈话，交谈

参考例句：

• Conversation is one of pleasures of life.交谈是人生一大乐趣。
• We'll carry on a conversation with her tomorrow.我们将于明天与她会谈。

10 took   

vt.带，载(take的过去式)

参考例句：

• I took my dog for a walk along the river.我带着狗沿那条河散步。
• It took me about two hours to cook the meat.我花了大约两个小时来煮这些肉。

11 several   

adj.几个，若干，数个；各个的，各自的

参考例句：

• Words often have several meanings.单词往往有若干个意思。
• Several new members have come into the club since last year.自去年以来，又有些新成员加入了俱乐部。

12 mostly   

adv.主要地；大部分

参考例句：

• Our weather has been mostly warm.我们这里的天气多半是暖和的。
