ESL露西的一天 第2期:起床讲解(1)

 　　Episode¹ one is called "Getting Up."   第一课的主题是“起床”。

　　The verb² to get, "get," up means³ to get out of your bed - to leave your bed. 动词词组get（g-e-t）up意思是从床里出来，即离开床。

　　So, after you stop sleeping - after you wake up, then you get up - you get out of your bed. 所以你睡完觉以后，也就是醒了之后，你就要起床，离开床。

　　Lucy begins her story by saying that "On a weekday," that is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - those are the weekdays (all one word), weekday.  露西在开头说“在工作日”，即周一、周二、周三、周四和周五，这些叫作工作日（都是一个词）。

　　The other part of the week is called the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. 一周的另一部分叫作周末，即周六和周日。

　　"On a weekday," what some people might also call a work day - a day they have to work, Lucy says she "usually gets up around 6:30" in the morning, but she sets her "alarm⁴ to go off at 6:20."   “在工作日”也有人叫它上班时间，即需要上班的时候，露西说她早上“通常六点半左右起床”，但是她把“闹铃定在六点二十响”。

　　Her alarm, "alarm," is what makes noise - what wakes her up, usually it is an alarm clock that you can set the time to. 她的闹铃（a-l-a-r-m）可以发出声音，可以叫醒她，通常是一个可以设定时间的闹钟。

　　To set your alarm, "set," means to put it to the correct time. 设定闹钟（s-e-t），意思是把它调到正确的时间。

n.惊慌，恐慌；警报器；v.使……恐慌

参考例句：

• The man on duty rang an alarm.值班员发出警报。
• The alarm spread rapidly.警报迅速传开。
