Hello, this is Tara, and I just gonna talk about what I wanna do in the future.

 

At the moment I've finished my degree so, I'm just, you know, trying to save some money to pay off my debts², but I really want to be a nutritionist, so I'm saving³ some money to go to college. I want to do this job because I don't think people take enough care with what they're eating nowadays, so I want to teach people to respect the food they are eating and to treat their body with care.

At the moment, I'm saving money to go to college.

 

The phrase⁴ 'at the moment' can be replaced with 'right now.'  It is a more formal phrase.  Notice the following:

 

At the moment I am going to the supermarket.

He's a little busy at the moment.

finish a degree

 

I've just finished my degree.

 

When you 'finish a degree' you complete all the necessary classes to receive a type of certification⁵. Notice the following:

 

He finished his degree a semester⁶ early.

When you finish this degree are you going to continue studying to get your Master's degree?

pay off debt¹

 

I'm trying to save money to pay off my debts.

 

A 'debt' is money that someone gave you and now you have to give the money back.  To 'pay off a debt' is to pay the complete amount of money that you owe⁷.  Notice the following:

 

He has to pay off the debt in 10 years.

You will have to use all your extra money to pay off your debts.

take care

 

Most people don't take enough care with what they're eating.

 

To 'take care' about what you eat is to worry about it and only eat what is healthy and good for you. Notice the following:

 

She takes a lot of care when feeding her children.

You need to take care to eat food that is low in salt.

respect (what they eat)

 

I want to teach people to respect the food they're eating and to take care of their bodies.

 

We 'respect' something when we appreciate it and know that it is important and valuable.  Notice the following:

 

He respects what he eats and tries to eat only natural foods. 

You should respect where this food came from and how much work went into producing it.

 

 

1 debt   

n.债务，义务，负债状态，罪，过失

• The man was pressed to pay off his debt.那人被逼还债。
• The firm had to charge off the debt as hopeless.公司只得把那笔没希望要回的债务注销。

2 debts   

债( debt的名词复数 )； 负债情况； 人情债； 情义

参考例句：

• They were behindhand in settling their debts. 他们没有及时还清债务。
• I need to pay off all my debts before I leave the country. 我得在离开该国前偿清所有债务。

3 saving   

n.节省，节约；[pl.]储蓄金，存款

参考例句：

• Energy saving is term strategic policy of our country.节约能源是我国长期的战略国策。
• Old-fashioned housewives were usually very saving.旧时的家庭主妇通常都很节俭。

4 phrase   

n.短语，词组；成语，习语

参考例句：

• The phrase was caught on and immediately became popular.这个短语被采用后很快就流行了。
• That's exactly the phrase I was looking for.这就是我一直找的那个短语。

5 certification   

n.证明，鉴定，证书

参考例句：

• the medical certification of the cause of death 为死因出具医学鉴定
• He received his certification as a high school English teacher. 他取得了中学英语教师证书。 来自《简明英汉词典》

6 semester   

n.一学期，半学年，六个月的时间

参考例句：

• A student will probably attend four or five courses during each semester.每个学生一学期可能要修四五门课程。
• I had an especially rough time during my first semester.我第一个学期的日子难受极了。

7 owe   

vt./vi.欠（债等）；感激；把……归功于某人

参考例句：

• We still owe one hundred dollars for the car.为这部车我们还欠着100美元。
• We owe it to society to make our country a better place.把国家建设得更美好是我们对社会应尽的责任。
