　　Why do I have so many cavities，Doctor?

　　It seems that every time I go to the dentist，there are at least three or four new ones.

　　The most important and practical thing for you to know about tooth decay is that it's caused by bacteria.

　　对于造成蛀牙所应知道的最重要的，最实际的一点就是蛀牙是细菌造成的。

　　You can control the oral bacteria with daily home care.

　　你可以通过日常的保护来控制口腔的细菌。

　　If you remove the bacteria from your teeth by effective toothbrushing and dental flossing, you'll reduce the number of new cavities.

　　Yes, you may be able to stop having new cavities.

　　The bacteria on the teeth use starches⁴ and sugars in the foods that you eat to form an acid that dissolves enamel⁵.

　　附在牙齿上的细菌利用你吃的食物中的淀粉、脂和糖， 把它转变成为能够使牙釉质分解的一种酸。

1 susceptible   

adj.过敏的，敏感的；易动感情的，易受感动的

参考例句：

• Children are more susceptible than adults.孩子比成人易受感动。
• We are all susceptible to advertising.我们都易受广告的影响。

2 fully   

adv.完全地，全部地，彻底地；充分地

参考例句：

• The doctor asked me to breathe in,then to breathe out fully.医生让我先吸气，然后全部呼出。
• They soon became fully integrated into the local community.他们很快就完全融入了当地人的圈子。

3 saliva   

n.唾液，口水

参考例句：

• He wiped a dribble of saliva from his chin.他擦掉了下巴上的几滴口水。

4 starches   

n.淀粉( starch的名词复数 )；含淀粉的食物；浆粉v.把（衣服、床单等）浆一浆( starch的第三人称单数 )
