4.Venezuela removed Central Bank reserves once held as U.S. Treasury⁶ bonds and moved the funds to Europe and other countries. President Hugo Chavez said Venezuela changed their reserves because of threats from the US government.

5 A fire at a Russian navy ammunition⁷ depot⁸ caused artillery⁹ shells to explode, forcing the evacuation of thousands in a remote eastern region on Saturday. Some four thousand residents from five towns in Kamchatka Province were forced to leave their homes.
