Five prestigious¹ universities in Beijing were going to tear down walls to ease urban problems such as traffic congestion², according to city plans. But the notion alone has been met with outcry from many residents and students who believe that their lives will be seriously disrupted and even go as far as to indicate concerns over safety measures.

 

Is the tearing down of university walls a suitable option to ease urban problems or are they consequences too much to handle?
