China has recently announced a new round of tariff¹ cuts on consumer goods, in an effort to spur economic growth driven by domestic consumption. Baby diapers, baby formula, toilet seats, amongst other goods Chinese consumers like to buy overseas are on the list.

A tariff is a tax on imports or exports between sovereign states. How will consumers benefit from this tariff cut?
