1. altercation¹  n. 争吵

The teacher halted the altercation by separating the two opponents before they could come to blows.

2. cleavage  n. 分歧

The cleavage between the poor and wealthy classes in some western countries has become a more and more serious problem.

4 friction   

n.摩擦，摩擦力
