 In this one year, 90 billion messages have been sent on twitter, the high-octane social network connecting the world. And the folks who run twitter looked back to come up with the most extraordinary tweets, the one that tell the story of the year. And ABC's Cecilia Vega got an exclusive first look. 

 

It might seem impossible choosing the 10 best stories from more than 250 million tweets a day but they did it at twitter. 

 

Looks out of the window and there is space when everyone ...

 

Co-Founder Jack¹ Dorsey gave us a rare and exclusive look to show us just how. 

 

Ten tweets, 140 characters a year's worth of news in 1,400 characters maybe.

 

 

Another top of the top 10 list for Dorsey, this one liner from an unsuspecting man in Pakistan: "Helicopter hovering² above Abbottabad at 1AM is a rare event. 

 

The world's first clue that Osama bin³ Laden⁴ had been killed. 

 

The Japanese earthquake and tsunami⁵ made the list. 

 

So did the clean up after the London riots and the Arab Spring marked by a three-word rally cry: "Welcome back Egypt." 

 

From a global moment to the universe of one life change. 

 

A homeless New Yorker tweeting looking for my daughter after 11-year search makes his plea on twitter, posting her name and photo. It only took one day for her to call and then, a reunion. "How are you?"

 

NBA player Kevin Durant tweets his board during the lockout. A group of Oklahoma state buddies⁶ invites him to a game of flag football. To everyone's surprise, he shows up. 

 

 

When technology is great, it reminds us of our humanness. And it connects us in a very very human way. 

 

 

And sometimes, it was a simplest connecting a hungry man with a steak dinner he so craved⁷. When Peter Shankman jokingly asked Morton's steak house to deliver a porterhouse to New York Airport, his free dinner was there when he landed. 

 

 

It is the world we live in, in 140 characters or less.
