7．Talking to the Immigration Officer见移民官

Officer: Passport, please. (pause) Thank you. I’ll need to see your boarding pass as well.

Mr. Lee: Here you go.

Officer: How long are you planning to stay in Canada?

Mr. Lee: Two weeks

Officer: And where will you be staying?

Mr. Lee: I’ve got a hotel reservation¹ at the Marriott, where the conference on Sale and Technology is being held. I’ll be taking their shuttle bus from the airport.

Officer: OK, I’ve stamped your passport for a three-week tourist visa. After this date stamped here, you’ll have to make sure to leave the country, or apply for an extension².
