orphaned2 cowherd, who were separated by the Emperor, who
disapproved3 of their union. The girl was forced to move to the star Vega, and the cowherd to the star Altair. They were allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month -- Chinese Valentine's Day.
