　　We got mostly optimistic view of the economy from Federal Reserve's closely _1_ beige book today. NPR's Teri Schultz reports.

　　Eight times a year, the Fed told us a little stories about the state of the economy, it binds¹ anecdotes² into what _2_ the beige book and for September, earlier October the Fed says the nation's economy continue to expand at modest, moderate pace. But the growth slowed in some regions including around Philadelphia, Chicago and Kansas City. Overall, the Fed's context said they were cautious optimistic. Consumer _3_ increased but some areas say companies are nervous to hire given to uncertainty³ about the Affordable⁴ Care Act and the government shutdown. That shutdown has left us in dark but a lot of other government economic data lately, so this beige book is taking on even more importance. Teri Schultz, NPR News.
