It's hard to be happy without feeling in control ofyour life, but you can take this too far in the other direction by making yourself unhappy through trying to control too much.

 

对生活没有掌控是很难快乐的，但过犹不及，你也可能因为掌控太多而让自己不快乐。

 

This is especially true with people. The only person you can control in your life is you.

 

这对于人们来说尤为正确。你生命中唯一能控制的人就是自己。

 

When you feel that nagging² desire to dictate³ other people's behavior, this will inevitably⁴ blow up in your face and make youun happy.

 

当你感到挥之不去的欲望指示了别人的行为，这将不可避免地表现在你脸上，并让你感到不高兴。

 

Even if you can control someone in the short term,it usually requires pressure in the form of force or fear, and treating peoplethis way won't leave you feeling good about yourself.

 

即使你能阶段性地控制别人，通常需要武力或是恐惧的压力。以这种方式对待别人不会让你对自己感觉良好。
