There is a car race near our town every year.

In 1995, there was¹ a very bigrace.

There were hundreds of people there. My wife² and I were at the race. Our friends Julie and Jack³ were there, too. You can see us in thecrowd. We are standing⁴ on the left.

There were 20 cars in the race. There were English cars, French⁵ cars, German⁶ cars, Italian⁷ cars, American cars and Japanese⁸ cars.

It was an exciting finish. The winner⁹ was Billy Stewart. He was in car number 15. Five other cars werejust behind him.

On the way home, my wife said¹⁰ to me, "Don't drive so quickly! You're not Billy Stewart!"

It is an  exciting finish.

1 用在名词和名词词组前

2 用在形容词和副词、介词词组前
