John: Well, today's phrase is to go ballistic.
Helen: Sounds a bit odd, what does it mean? To go ballistic.
John: If you go ballistic, you become enraged1, really really angry!
John: Someone's about to go ballistic here.
Example
A: Well, I told her we were going on holiday next week.
B: Bet she's looking forward to it.
A: No, she went ballistic, she said ''I can't go because I’ve got an interview that week!''
B: You idiot!
Helen: I can see why she went ballistic, she couldn't go on holiday!
John: She really went ballistic, she went mad! Her boyfriend organised a holiday when she couldn't possibly go.
Helen: So she went ballistic,

Helen: John, don't go ballistic at me!
John: Don't worry Helen, I'm not angry, yet!
