Senators Barack Obama and John McCain will face off tonight in the third and final debate of the presidential campaign. A new CNN poll of polls suggests 7 percent of American voters still undecided. Expect the economy to remain issue No.1, but the McCain camp says it is likely that McCain will ask Obama to explain his relationship with 1960s and 70s radical2 William Ayers.
Former first lady Nancy Reagan is in a Los Angeles hospital right now with a broken pelvis. Her spokeswoman tells the Associated Press that she fell at her home last week, decided1 to get checked out this week at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center. The spokeswoman says Mrs. Reagan is in some pain, she's going through physical therapy but otherwise in good spirits and there is no surgery required.
Vice President Dick Cheney has had a recurrence3 of his heart problems. Doctors found an abnormal heart rhythm, so he is getting checked out today at George Washington University Hospital in Washington. Cheney has had four heart attacks since 1978.
Southern California is getting a bit of break from the fierce Santa Ana winds that have spread some major wildfires out there. Three of the big blazes have been burning in southern California since this week, start of the fire season, including this big one near Los Angeles. Right now this one is about 20 percent contained. Today lighter4 winds are really helping5 firefighters make some progress. Unfortunately at least 2 deaths have been blamed on these fires.
After 8 years of marriage, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are calling it quits. The singer's spokesman releases a statement confirming they are seeking a divorce after again nearly years. It went on to ask the media to respect their privacy.
