3. A solar flare erupted from the sun in an impressive display captured by NASA cameras. NASA says the flare peaked on Tuesday and created a large cloud that appeared to cover almost half the surface of the Sun.

 

4. And the torch for the 2012 London Olympics has been revealed. A golden aluminium tube with 8000 mesh-like holes that represent the number of torch bearers and miles it will travel in the 70-day relay across Britain.
