Taking a look at the satellite image first, and cloud is clearing from Victoria and Tasmania due to a broad high pressure system bringing blue skies to most of the country. Low cloud over the northern New South Wales and southern Queensland coast is causing a shower or two.

To the state forecasts, in Queensland it could see isolated showers inland from the north tropical coast during the afternoon and also in the far northwest. It should be fine elsewhere though.

Isolated showers over (the) New South Wales’s northern coastline. There should also be early fog in the east and south of the state with some frost on the ranges.

There will be morning fog patches in Victoria's north with isolated falls in the southwest and parts of the eastern highlands. A mild and partly cloudy day for much of the state.

Showers are expected in western Tasmania extending to the south throughout the day. Moderate to fresh west and northwest winds are expected.

In South Australia, there will be possible isolated fog patches about the Agricultural districts. Some isolated light falls in the south, they should clear during the day.

Isolated showers over the southwest of WA extending across the Great Southern and southeast coastal areas during the day.

And in the Northern Territory, it should be fine apart from isolated showers over this northeast coast.

And looking ahead for the capitals, it should be fine in Sydney, Canberra, Darwin and Hobart. Some showers in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, and cloudy in Perth.
