The European Showcase for Brands of China Appears in Birmingham(在线收听

After decades of fast economic growth and globalization, it's only natural that Chinese brands are making their way overseas. Recently, an increasing number of Chinese companies have been participating in international expositions in various industries and markets, including Haier, Huawei, BYD, and others.

And as CRI's Zhang Ru reports, Chinese prescene at Birmingham's Autumn Fair is generating lots of buzz.

The European Showcase for Brands of China has once again made its way to the Autumn Fair in the British city of Birmingham this week. Wang Shouwen, a senior official of China's Ministry of Commerce, which is sponsoring the showcase, says the exhibition will promote the bilateral trade.

"The consistent expansion of China-UK bilateral trade and the fast growth of imports from the UK indicate that our two economies enjoy growing complimentarities. The mutually beneficial economical and trade cooperation between our two countries had great development potential and inherent vitality. It is great to note that The European Showcase for Brands of China is becoming increasingly successful with ever growing attraction to Chinese businesses."

The City Council Leader of Birmingham city, Mike Whitby, also expresses that the economical relationship among Birmingham, UK and China has gradually become much closer. He hopes that Chinese brands can use Birmingham as the bridge to move into the European market.

"So the "made in China" doesn't only appear in February or September, but it actually has a permanent relationship with United Kingdom and specifically with Birmingham and dresses the European market of 419 million people. Not only the very sophisticated political relationship the Birmingham already has with China, but actually reaches a mutual commercial relationship."

China's Ministry of Commerce chose 190 leading enterprises from various parts of the country to attend this year's Autumn Fair, showcasing nearly one thousand products.

The European Showcase for Brands of China has been successfully held since 2004. It is considered as an essential tool for optimizing trade framework, expanding bilateral cooperation and promoting trade between China and UK.
