Overseas Chinese Women in Sweden Celebrates Moon Festival(在线收听

Mid-autumn festival or moon festival is celebrated in every Chinese family on Monday. Is it celebrated abroad? Will they have moon cake? Yes, Overseas Chinese Women's Association in Sweden has organized such a grand celebration in Stockholm. Chen Xuefei attended the celebration and filed this report.

 
To eat the moon cake and get the family reunion is the custom of every Chinese when the moon festival comes.

Zhang Yuping, president of the Overseas Chinese Women's Association in Sweden said the celebration is to provide a good opportunity for the overseas Chinese women to enhance the Chinese culture and tradition.

Zhang Yuping said that usually people are very busy at their work, but on the eve of moon festival, her association likes to provide a good chance for Chinese women to have a chat, exchange ideas, to sing and dance and to think of future development.

She said that the celebration is also to tell the next generation that there is such a Chinese tradition of celebrating moon festival when people miss their home and family members.

During the celebration, all the women wore traditional Chinese Manchurian costumes, Qipao and walked as if they were a model. After the fashion show, another group gave a performance of the Chinese folk dance.

Wang Yuqing, Secretary of Overseas Women's Association blew a very ancient musical instrument Ocarina to add the festival atmosphere.

People not only enjoy the moon cakes, but also sunflower seeds, peanuts and the Chinese dumplings or Baozi.

Typical Chinese song the Moon on the 15th of the month in lunar calendar especially reminded people of their family, the motherland and their beloved.

Overseas Chinese Women's Association is one of the important organizations among the 30 thousand overseas Chinese in Sweden.
