CMA upgrades response to level Ⅲ for typhoon Vicente(在线收听

 BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhuanet) -- To deal with the coming tropical cyclone Vicente, at 9:00 a.m. today, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) raised the emergency level from Ⅳ to Ⅲ. CMA urged the related internal bodies and related provincial meteorological bureaus such as Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi and Yunnan to do a good job of meteorological service.

Vicente, the 8th severe tropical storm in this year, has intensified into a typhoon at 10:00 a.m. today. It is forecasted to land in Guangdong province at tonight or tomorrow morning with landing wind force 33-38m/s.
At 10:00 a.m. today CMA issued an orange category warning for typhoon Vicente.
As the second landing typhoon in this year, Vicente will have big influence to the South China, said CMA expert.
According to the observation, on today, strong wind with scale 6-8 has happened in eastern and central coast of Guangdong. Parts of South China Sea has seen gale with scale over 12. Rainstorm with rainfall over 100mm has happened in part of Guangdong.
Vicente is forecasted to move north and then turn northwest at speed of 10-15 km per hour with gaining intensity to approach coast areas from Shenzhen to Zhanjiang in Guangdong province and expected to land in these areas.
